General practice one-stop shops

Surgeries where you can get specialist as well as general attention? Great idea: Beth suggested it months ago, reflecting on experience in Austria and considering the current unhelpful conflict between GPs and hospital consultants.

Now, can someone please explain the logical connection between this and the need to eliminate single-GP practices?

Surely the answer is that there is no connection. Our socialist government simply wishes to have more control by eliminating troublesome individuals and partnerships, disempowering them to care for their communities, and instead, no doubt, centrally placing healthcare business with some hungry corporate monstrosity waiting in the wings.

Another blow for civil society.

The government is now clarifying that small communities won’t have their GP cover taken away.

    What a pantomime.
