First UK skydive of the year


On an unexpectedly beautiful day, I took the opportunity of a late afternoon jump at Weston, and second was nearly achieved but for lack of interest: the other jumpers had worn themselves out with the pace, and in the UK in March too.

Front loop exit tumbling for 5 sec. A practice touch on the main handle, then turns to 6500 feet or so where I found I was catching – vertically – the formation ahead. I watched them until break off and pull. I really am an express train going down…

Great view. Weston is such a huge DZ, you feel lower than you are.
