According to the Telegraph:

Peter Mandelson, the new Business Secretary, had a private meal with George Osborne, the shadow chancellor, just weeks ago during which he is alleged to have savagely criticised the Prime Minister.

Would Mandelson dare to take the position of Prime Minister from within the Lords? I believe the last peer to be PM was Douglas-Home in 1963, who renounced his peerage to stand for the commons.
