LGCBuckinghamshire County Council has been shortlisted for four national Local Government Chronicle (LGC) awards in the following categories:

  1. Public Health
  2. Corporate Governance
  3. Innovation in Commissioning
  4. Team of the Year

The submissions were among a record-breaking 640 entries for the awards. While the final results are not yet in, few local authorities have fared better than Buckinghamshire. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on March 12.

Martin Tett, leader of Buckinghamshire County Council, said:

We are thrilled by being shortlisted for so many awards, and we are pleased that the judges share our views about the high quality of work being undertaken in so many of our council departments. It would be great to win these awards, but just being shortlisted is an honour in itself.

Bucks County Council has also been shortlisted for several other awards in the past few months, with the CATCH service named Team of the Year at the Social Worker of the Year Awards in November.
