Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has today announced the appointment of Carolyn Morrice as Chief Nurse and Director of Patient Care Standards. She will take up her new post on 1 April 2014, replacing Lynne Swiatczak who leaves the Trust at the end of March.

Carolyn joined Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust in February 2013, as Assistant Chief Nurse in the surgery and critical care division. Prior to joining Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Carolyn worked for Mid-Essex Hospital as Deputy Director of Nursing.

Commenting on her appointment Carolyn said: “I am delighted to take up the post of Chief Nurse. I am looking forward to working with our nursing, midwifery and allied healthcare professionals to ensure we continue to listen to our patients – their voice matters, and will help us continue to improve the patient experience across the organisation. I will also be focusing on attracting and retaining the best nursing, midwifery and allied healthcare professional talent to Buckinghamshire, as part of our work to continuously improve the quality of care we deliver for our patients, every time.”

A considerable number of senior staff have changed at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust since the Keogh review. I am looking forward to a new era of patient care and to improvements in Wycombe.
