Great to be home
Crisp morning, sun shining, birds singing and a proper car: it’s good to be home.

Part of the “Ski Team Mountainzone” on Park City Mountain:

The weather was rough this morning, so we went snow-shoeing up a mountain: a good walk and I’m ready for some thicker air.
A photo failed to convey the Disney-like scene in our garden: half a dozen each of squirrels and wood pigeons; red kites overhead; a pair of male robins (fighting); a jay; magpies; a squadron of jackdaws; a pair of blackbirds; some kind of large crow watching from a tree; and countless tits, which was nice.

We still lack hedgehogs, badgers, foxes and deer, but who knows?
The Bombardiers raised over £3000 in the end, by the time the employees’ sponsorship is matched by Lehman Brothers (!) and the gift aid is added, I guess we’ll be somewhere over £6000 for Everyman. Good work
Free at last:
This morning, the first frost of the winter. Thank goodness for heated grips :p
Beth and I lounged in the garden last night watching the meteor shower. Saw about 5 metors each.
Don’t miss the next one.
With the A420 closed, people are trying to get through Shrivenham. There was quite a significant flood on this route too this morning.
Just took the KTM out to examine the driving conditions. It’s Biblical.
The A420 is closed where it bypasses the village – haven’t checked it out, yet – so people seem to be heading off into the minor roads in the region of Faringdon and Lechlade. This turns out to be a Bad Idea.
I rode to Highworth for fuel, then out to Lechlade, though Buscot to Faringdon and home. There’s quite a river, 8 inches perhaps, running across the road between Watchfield and Shrivenham. Highworth is ok on the hill. The floods from Inglesham through Buscot are spectacular.
