New Flickr account

Raindrops on the water, originally uploaded by stevenjbaker.

So, at last, I have a Flickr account and the Flickr plugin for Aperture…

This shot was taken with a long lens and a wide aperture for a small depth of focus. A couple of dozen shots were required in continuous shooting mode to capture this moment.

Weston Boogie highlights

Personal highlights included falling backwards from a Jetranger at 5000ft with the moon in the background, finding a stable position on my back, and a 12-way tracking jump from the Skyvan.

Highlights provided by other jumpers at the Boogie may be available on YouTube: I am not responsible for the content of their videos!

UK Skydiver Boogie pre-event jumping

We had just three skydives today but they were great fun, two-way formations. We spent our time waiting for military training to complete: a soldier was apparently badly injured after a malfunction. Three police cars, three ambulances and two helicopters attended and guards were placed on the gate. We feared the worst, but I understand the one lad involved walked from hospital the same day.

We struggled to put the cost of the response into perspective, particularly considering the high risks associated with low-level paratroop jumps.

K1200S: sold!
