Flew there Sunday, trained a team of financial professionals Monday, training and consulting Tuesday and flew home overnight. I thoroughly recommend Smith and Wollensky for steak, but go hungry! A great pleasure to visit a great city.
This is the way to do it: with just four hours difference at this time of year and a short trip, jet lag is no problem. Economy seats through the night, however, win no friends.

As the absence of posts attests, we took a week off. Which was nice.
Spent the weekend relaxing near Avignon. The Palais des Papes provided a photo opportunity:
… is acceptable. Beth had a lovely spa day, apparently, and dinner was superb.
I did think of my Cornish folk’s response to the “gourmet” Cornish sea bass I enjoyed. Whereas they wouldn’t usually serve less than a whole fish per person, I received about a 2cm fillet off one side. Highly amusing, apart from the price.
The extremely good yet affordable white wine was from the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon.
I intend to ride the Route Napoleon, then explore the south of France and into the Alps.

My current client has placed me in Mumbai (neé Bombay) for a week. It’s now 04:00 here and I’m up at 07:00. Oh dear.
India impresses so far. The airport was the most efficient I have ever seen: perhaps 30 sec delay through passport control, then my bags were waiting. Pick up was immediate, polite and efficient and the hotel is splendid. Not quite the melee I was expecting…
