I am taking a close interest in the Penn School site and its future. Both the provision of education and the use of land are of the first importance in Wycombe.

The administration of the failed Rayners Special Education Trust and the future use of the school site are matters of public interest. While I have no direct authority over either, I remain in correspondence with relevant bodies in the hope of ensuring a swift and satisfactory conclusion.

Deloitte are the administrators: they have not yet completed the formalities of winding up the former school. When I learned Deloitte had applied to the High Court for another year to conclude matters, I wrote to them conveying public concern and asking for a statement.

Deloitte’s progress report to court for the period 22 June 2016 to 12 December 2016 provides the necessary comprehensive statement of their work. I recommend interested parties read it for themselves. Questions should be directed to the administrators.

The administration process is a legal matter rightly outside political control but I will continue to stay in touch with the issues. I hope in due course the Trustees of the former school will deliver closure well by disposing of remaining assets to the satisfaction of parents and local people.
