What I have been up to this week #Working4Wycombe:

  • Asked the Department for Work & Pensions Minister in the House of Commons how the Government are encouraging employers to sign up to the Kickstart Scheme & employ 16-24 year olds
  • Spoke at the 12th Mullivaikkal Genocide Remembrance virtual event, standing in solidarity with the Tamil community, to commemorate the Mullivaikkal Massacre
  • Attended the All-Party Parliamentary Furniture Industry Group on behalf of constituents
  • Met with the YMCA to discuss the APPG Youth Affairs report on the effect of Covid on young people
  • Met with the National Crime Agency to discuss Caller ID Fraud & what more can be done to eliminate it
  • Supported Dementia Action Week
  • Briefed by the Department for International Trade on the UK’s successful free trade agreements
  • Explored the UK and Canada’s shared security interests at the UK-Canada Forum
  • Worked through the Covid Recovery Group to beat coronavirus and reclaim our lives
  • Briefed by the Vaccines Minister on the successes of our Covid-19 vaccination programme
  • Met with ministers at the 1922 Committee
  • And as ever, pursued a range of issues, and made ministerial representations, for local individuals and businesses in Wycombe
