Outgoing County Council Chairman Zahir Mohammed praises community

bcc_thumbAs outgoing County Council Chairman Zahir Mohammed handed the chain of office to successor Chairman Bill Chapple, he praised those in the voluntary, civic, business and community sectors for their contribution to Buckinghamshire.

Cllr Zahir told more than 200 guests at Hedsor House on Thursday 14 May that he felt privileged to have served the county over the last year. He called on guests to work together to manage the ‘challenges of tomorrow’.

“Togetherness between us is of great value to all our citizens, as it is our common future. We are greater than our individual talents, we are greater than the sum of our aspirations, and we remain greater than our collective skills.”

The Chairman went on to pay tribute to the sacrifices of Buckinghamshire’s Services community.

Zahir has been a first-class Chairman of the County Council on whom I have relied for advice on a number of important issues. I am looking forward to working with him as he continues to serve the people of Booker, Cressex & Castlefield in High Wycombe.
