I’m pleased to be able to share some good news that’s set to make a big difference in Wycombe and our neighbouring areas. We’ve secured a £58.75 million deal with CityFibre to bring super-fast broadband to many homes and businesses in our community. This move is a game changer, especially for areas that have been waiting for better internet service.

This project is part of a larger effort to ensure that everyone, no matter where they live, can access fast and reliable internet. It’s crucial for our community’s growth, allowing people to start and run businesses, learn online, and stay connected with loved ones.

CityFibre, a leading name in the broadband industry, will play an important role in this initiative. The company has a strong track record, having been awarded several contracts under the government’s Project Gigabit program. This not only shows their capability but also their commitment to investing in our area. With planning starting soon, we expect the first connections to be live by early 2025.

This investment isn’t just about boosting our internet speeds. It’s about opening doors to new opportunities, supporting local businesses, and enhancing education and healthcare through better access to online resources. It aligns with our ongoing efforts to improve public services and ensure that Wycombe remains a vibrant place to live and work.

But this project goes beyond just laying cables. It’s about laying the foundation for a brighter future for our community. By enhancing our digital infrastructure, we’re ensuring that Wycombe is ready to face the challenges and seize the opportunities of the 21st century.

I’m committed to keeping you informed and involved as we move forward with this exciting development. Your feedback is invaluable, and I encourage you to share your thoughts as we work together to make Wycombe a better-connected, more prosperous place for all.

As Project Gigabit progresses, I will continue advocating for enhanced broadband coverage for all in Wycombe.
