The Post Office have written informing me that it will be proceeding with the relocation of the Units 10/11 Chiltern Centre Post Office to 3 Castle Street, HP13 6RZ, where it will operate as one of its new branches.

The existing branch will close at 17.30 on 5 November with the new branch opening at 09.00 on 6 November. It will run a service 09.00 to 17.30 every week day and on Saturday. It is closed on Sunday.

The Post Office explained that it received a very small number of comments during its consultation period. Some supported the proposed move citing the extended opening hours; however, the main feedback centred on car parking in the vicinity. The Post Office said that it understood the car parking concern; however, it concluded that it is a problem faced generally in many locations nationwide. It said that Castle Street car park is 150 metres away and there is disabled parking available directly outside the branch itself.

In addition, the new branch will be refurbished to a high standard with a mixture of security screened and open plan serving positions. It will also have a serving point in the retail area allowing customers to carry out their Post Office business alongside retail transactions, while the DVLA Photocard Renewal service will still be offered.
