Moment a Dolphin Gave Birth Caught on Film


The unique moment was captured by a photographer at the Oltremare Aquarium at Riccione in Italy. Normally after a year-long pregnancy, captive dolphins give birth at night and away from the public gaze, but this Bottlenose dolphin unusually gave birth in broad daylight and close to a viewing window so that photographer had a grandstand view. read more | digg story

The “Deluxe Executive Suites” in the Hotel Park City’s cottages are each equipped with an outdoor “Nordic hot tub” which cannot be switched off: they run continuously to avoid freezing. Apart from being a grotesque waste of energy – another subject – these tubs all emit the same low buzz from their pumps, all the time. Disney at work in the garden

A photo failed to convey the Disney-like scene in our garden: half a dozen each of squirrels and wood pigeons; red kites overhead; a pair of male robins (fighting); a jay; magpies; a squadron of jackdaws; a pair of blackbirds; some kind of large crow watching from a tree; and countless tits, which was nice. We still lack hedgehogs, badgers, foxes and deer, but who knows?
